[RFC PATCH] efi_loader: conditionally enable SetvariableRT

When EFI variables are stored on file we don't allow SetVariableRT, since the OS doesn't know how to access or write that file. At the same time keeping the U-Boot drivers alive in runtime sections and performing writes from the firmware is dangerous -- if at all possible. For GetVariableRT we copy runtime variables in RAM and expose them to the OS. Add a Kconfig option and provide SetVariableRT using the same memory backend. The OS will be responsible for syncing the RAM contents to the file, otherwise any changes made during runtime won't persist reboots. I would like to send a hint to the OS about that and I was thinking of adding a configuration table with the filename, which U-Boot expects to be on the ESP. Alternatively we could add a device path which would be a bit harder to parse from the userspace application, but safer in case multiple ESPs are present. Since I am not too familiar with how BSDs treat and expose config tables, we could instead add a RO efi variable with identical semantics, which would be easier to read from userspace. Enable OF_UPSTREAM to use upstream DT and add marvell/ prefix to the DEFAULT_DEVICE_TREE for Kirkwood boards. And so we can directly build DTBs from dts/upstream/src/arm/marvell, and including *-u-boot.dtsi files from arch/arm/dts/ directory. Upcoming Analog Devices SoC Support Submission

Hi Tom, I wanted to get a little bit of guidance before dumping some patches on the mailing list. I've been preparing to submit support we've developed for the Analog Devices SC5xx SoCs including both core SoC support and specific device trees and defconfigs for the eval kits available from ADI. I've submitted several small patches to touch various shared parts of U-Boot that we needed to extend to get this hardware running and to get some familiarity with using patman to format and submit things, but now I have a roughly 15k line changeset consisting of a new mach type and all of the required drivers for the system. It's broken down into a bunch of commits: one for the mach type support, one per driver we've added, and one per target board supported. What is the best way to submit this? Ideally I'd love to get feedback on individual drivers from the respective subsystem maintainers, but it seems rude to have a 20-element patch series that gets resubmitted each time feedback comes in for one component. If we break it down into separate patches for each piece, what would be the best way to ensure that all of the dependencies are merged in order? Thanks, Greg -- Greg Malysa Timesys Corporation

[PATCH] tpm-v2: allow algo name to be conigured for pcr_read and pcr_extend

For pcr_read and pcr_extend commands allow the digest algo to be specified by an additional argument. If not specified it will default to SHA256 for backwards compatibility. A follow-on to this could be to extend all PCR banks with the detected algo when the <digest_algo> argument is 'auto'.
