Change reg-shift property default to zero. When the integer property is missing, it should be taken as zero. This is consistent to Linux drivers/tty/serial/of_serial.c. The x86 and most powerpc use reg-shift of 0. Most others use reg-shift of 2. While reg-shift of 1 is rarely used. [U-Boot] Rpi Uboot not working ; USB keyboard undetected

Hello All, I am new to Rpi and for a project I need to install Uboot for Rpi. For starters I installed Raspbian-jessie to the pi and it worked fine. Now I am attempting to use uboot but I don't succeed. I am trying to follow the instructions http://elinux.org/RPi_U-Boot and http://arrizza.org/wiki/index.php/RPI_U-boot . Here is what i have done so far. 1) Downloaded and compiled the code from "Stephen Warren's work-in-progress branch" (and also from the mainline when the former did not work). I used a Debian box to compile and and used CROSS_COMPILE=arm-linux-gnueabi- . I am able to successfully build uboot.bin 2) Now I copy uboot.bin to the SD card. I replace the config.txt to have a line kernel=uboot.bin . ( I also tried to replace the kernel.bin directly as uboot.bin) Now when I boot the pi I stop at the uboot prompt but my USB keyboard and USB mouse are not recognized . I can't do anything ! How do I communicate with the pi ?? My question seems similar to https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=104383 but I see no fix for the problem. Seems 6ae6e160 broke creating multi and script type images and even building of mkimage itself. There are two problems with that patch. First is that expression (!(x == 0) || !(x == 1)) is always true for unsigned int x. The expression must use AND (&&) not OR (||) to be correct. Second is the coding which causes gcc 4.9.x and newer scream gruesome death and murder. The expression !x == 0 && !x == 1 is ambiguous and should instead be rewritten into (x != 0) && (x != 1) to be correct. The parenthesis are added for clarity. Hey all, I've pushed v2016.01-rc2 out and it should be everywhere soon. It's later than it should be as I got a bit side tracked, but I think I have most things in that I want in at least. There's a few outstanding things like the ThunderX stuff that I need to look at again with respect to device tree binding "fun". If there's outstanding patches, especially ones that aren't assigned to me in patchwork, please feel free to poke me here or off-list if you own something that you think should be in v2016.01 but hasn't been applied yet. MC and debug server are not board-specific. Instead of reserving memory in each board file, a weak function is introduced in board_f.c to replace macro CONFIG_SYS_MEM_TOP_HIDE for more flexibility. Legacy use of this macro is still supported. Move the reservation calculation to SoC file. Reduce debug server memory by 2MB to make room for secure memory. In the system with MC and debug server, the top of u-boot memory is not the end of memory. PRAM is not used for this reservation. Hi Tom, please pull these changes. It is moving GEM to DM and fixes problems with SPL. The last three patches are fixing MANUAL_RELOC and enabling SPL_SIMPLE_BUS by default.
