[U-Boot] How can I make a second serial port on a motorola 8248 Chip known to Linux.

Hello, I am working with a mpc8260ads(actually QUICC 8248 processor) based board. There are two hardware rs-232 ports available. I can switch the console between the two by switching the CONFIG_CONS_INDEX configuration variable between 1 and 4. I would like to have both ports in service, when Linux comes up. One as the console and the second to communicate with(i.e. acquire data from) a third party rs-232 device. Eventually, the third party device may be a telephone modem. Can anyone explain how to accomplish this, and if not, what constraints are blocking the accomplishment of my requirements. Any suggestions will be appreciated. [U-Boot] [PATCH v2 2/3] Reset interrupted i2c slaves (galaxy5200)

Reset any i2c devices that may have been interrupted by a system reset. Normally this would be accomplished by clocking the line until SCL and SDA are released and then sending a start condtiion (From an Atmel datasheet). But since there is only write access to these lines on the MPC5200 we can only attempt to reset any slave devices by sending more start commands than bits the slave is attempting to transmit. Hi all. I've been busy getting a custom PPC440GX board to boot U-Boot. I started with a U-Boot (version 1.3.2) based on the ALPR board and the ELDK 4.0 toolchain. I got all that working and now I trying to move up to a newer version of U-Boot and a newer toolchain (specifically: U-Boot 2009.03 and ELDK 4.2). hi all: I do like to ask a question, why u-boot have no upload command? image such a scene: you have two board, and develop with one, but to some unknow reason, the board cannot boot. maybe it is the hardware problem, you want to upload all the data---a bin file, and download it to another board. maybe tftp should the upload function? or there is another way to upload data to host? thanks for reading! -- -- Sincerely, HaveF
