Introduces btrfs file-system to read file from
volume/sub-volumes with btrload command. This
implementation has read-only support.
This btrfs implementation is based on syslinux btrfs
code.
v13: Added pre-calculated crc for BE & LE
v11: Mirro super block check.
v10: patch problem reworked.
v5: merged with master.
v4: btrls command added.
[port of syslinux commit 269ebc845ebc8b46ef4b0be7fa0005c7fdb95b8d]

[U-Boot] Final talk schedule for U-Boot mini summit and collection of discussion topics
by Detlev Zundel 20 Oct '13
by Detlev Zundel 20 Oct '13
20 Oct '13
Hi,
the schedule for the U-Boot mini conference next week has been
finalized:
,---------------+-----------------+----------------------------------------------.
| Time | Speaker | Summary |
|---------------+-----------------+----------------------------------------------|
| 13:00 - 13:20 | Marek Vasut | Using i.MX28/i.MX233 without Freescale tools |
| 13:30 - 13:50 | Scott Wood | TPL: SPL loading SPL |
| | | (and, SPL as just another U-Boot config) |
| 14:00 - 14:20 | Stefano Babic | Falcon Boot: current status and |
| | | enhancements |
|---------------+-----------------+----------------------------------------------|
| 14:30 - 14:45 | | Break |
|---------------+-----------------+----------------------------------------------|
| 14:45 - 15:05 | Lukasz Majewski | Device Firmware Upgrade (DFU) - |
| | | present situation and future development |
| 15:15 - 15:35 | Jagan Teki | U-boot verified RSA boot flow on arm - |
| | | with demo run |
| 15:45 - 16:05 | Simon Glass | Driver model, Kconfig and a little Patman |
|---------------+-----------------+----------------------------------------------|
| 16:15 - 16:30 | | Break |
|---------------+-----------------+----------------------------------------------|
| 16:30 - 17:00 | Everybody | Open Discussion |
`---------------+-----------------+----------------------------------------------/
A notable change is the talk from Jagan that changed from "Android
fastboot" to "U-Boot verified RSA boot flow on arm". As this would have
overlapped Simon Glass' talk "Verified Boot on Chrome OS and How to do
it yourself" (14:00 - 14:50) in the main track we swapped those two
presentations. This way people interested in verified booting can
attend both talks.
In the meantime our schedule has found its way to the main web pages[1],
hopefully giving us a wider audience. Currently the swap explained in
the last paragraph is still pending, but I hope this to show up soon.
In this second part of my message I'd like to invite everybody to
collect topics that need/should be discussed at the U-Boot mini summit,
especially in the Open Discussion part at the end. As of now we have
collected two items:
- Assigning maintainership on a directory basis comparable to Linux
kernel
- Proposals of maintainers to reduce their workload
What else do you want to bring to the attention of the attendants?
Cheers
Detlev

[U-Boot] [PATCH v3 0/16] Driver model implementation, tests, demo and GPIO
by Simon Glass 19 Oct '13
by Simon Glass 19 Oct '13
19 Oct '13
Note: If you are reviewing this code, but don't have a lot of time, please
consider starting with the 'demo' driver (patch 'dm: Add a
demonstration/example driver') since it clearly shows how devices and
uclasses work. Much of this series consists of test code and plumbing, so
is of less interest to driver authors.
This patch adds a driver model implementation. It is taken from
the driver model code developed by:
Marek Vasut <marex(a)denx.de>
Pavel Herrmann <morpheus.ibis(a)gmail.com>
Viktor Křivák <viktor.krivak(a)gmail.com>
Tomas Hlavacek <tmshlvck(a)gmail.com>
Please see doc/driver-model/README.txt for details of how to run this and
what to look for. So far the documentation in doc/driver-model has not
been updated.
You can find a test version of the code used here in branch dm2 at:
http://git.denx.de/u-boot-x86.git
(Branch dm contains the original implementation)
Changes in v3:
- Add new patch to build a device tree file for sandbox
- Tidy up commenting of functions and structures
- Rename per_device_priv_size to per_device_auto_alloc_size, etc.
- Add a flag for tracking whether DM allocates/frees platform_data
- Add function/struct comments to tests
- Fix up demo command help
- Update demo driver to use device tree
- Update GPIO support to use new struct member names
- Tidy up comments/documentation in GPIO module
- Update sandbox GPIO header file comments
- Updated README.txt to cover changes since version 2
- Add new patch to move driver model documentation
Changes in v2:
- Removed pointer return values in favour of integer
- Use driver_bind() in dm_init() instead of writing new code
- Allow driver_bind() to support a NULL parent
- Add dm_warn() to warn about impending doom
- Standardise variable names (e.g. uclass instead of class)
- Remove relocation functions
- Add new header file for lists
- Add new util file to hold utility functions
- Allow a driver to bind to only one uclass
- Remove unneeded arguments to uclass_bind(), uclass_unbind()
- Rename struct device's 'bus' to 'parent'
- Rename data structures to hopefully be clearer
- Put platform_data definitions in their own header file
- Add U_BOOT_DEVICE to declare platform_data
- Add auto-probing feature for platform_data to avoid driver_bind() calls
- Add simple unit test functions
- Add test infrastructure for driver model
- Add integration tests for driver model
- Add device tree support in driver model
- Add automatic allocation of platform_data for FDT
- Add automatic allocation of priv data for devices
- Add automatic allocation of device-specific priv data for uclasses
- Add GPIO uclass and tests
- Add sandbox GPIO driver
- Update gpio command to use driver model
- Add tests for core code
- Add script to run tests
- Add a single include/dm.h to bring in driver model code
Pavel Herrmann (1):
dm: Add README for driver model
Simon Glass (15):
sandbox: Make map_to_sysmem() use a constant pointer
sandbox: Correct data sizes and printf() strings in fdtdec.c
sandbox: config: Don't use 64-bit physical memory
sandbox: Build a device tree file for sandbox
Add cmd_process_error() to report and process errors
sandbox: config: Enable driver model
dm: Add base driver model support
dm: Set up driver model after relocation
dm: Add basic tests
dm: Add a 'dm' command for testing
dm: Add a demonstration/example driver
dm: Add GPIO support and tests
sandbox: Convert GPIOs to use driver model
dm: Enable gpio command to support driver model
dm: Move old driver model documentation into an 'old-docs' directory

Did anyone notice the MAKEALL has a problem with BUILD_NBUILDS? If
BUILD_NBUILDS is more than 1, it works but the stats is wrong about the
number of boards. For example, if we set BUILD_NBUILDS=8, and we run
MAKEALL with 5 boards. The count is 0.

Hello Submarine Friends!
My goal is to keep env at fat partition on mmc.
I added these definitions to am335x_evm.h config.
#define CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_FAT
#define FAT_ENV_INTERFACE "mmc"
#define FAT_ENV_DEVICE 0
#define FAT_ENV_PART 1
#define FAT_ENV_FILE "uEnv.txt"
This enables to store the content on MMC, but I am concerned about two things:
1)I got this warning message every booting:
reading uEnv.txt
FAT: Misaligned buffer address (8fa16f10)
2) There is a problem with opening the file in text editors, because it have non ascii bytes at head.
But seems data is not corrupt.
Is it ok? Help me shedding some light on these issues.
Thank You.
Best Regards,
Dima.

Hello Wolfgang
You deleted the EP88x entry in boards.cfg
at the following commit
commit 1b0757eceddf037aad99ab59217a3a5c215e15d1
Author: Wolfgang Denk <wd(a)denx.de>
Date: Wed Oct 24 02:36:15 2012 +0000
PPC: remove dead boards (AMX860, c2mon, ETX094, IAD210, LANTEC, SCM)
These boards have long reached EOL, and there has been no indication

You only mentioned about AMX860, c2mon, ETX094, IAD210, LANTEC, SCM in commit log.
But you also deleted EP88x.
I suspect you accidentally deleted the entry of EP88x in boards.cfg
because:
- EP88x is not found in doc/README.scrapyard
- include/configs/EP88x.h is remaining
- board/ep88x/ is remaining
- I could successfully build EP88x by simply re-adding entry to boards.cfg

Hi, i have a problem while porting u-boot to my own-developed hardware
with P4080 and fixed DDR3 memory (not DIMM's).
Does anybody tested code for Freescale with fixed memory on real hardware?
It seems that the code does not initialize a lot of registers (for
example DDR_WRLVL_CNTL_2 and others) in function fixed_sdram(). But it
does this in function fsl_ddr_sdram() which i scalled if we have DIMMs.
Currently my u-boot hangs while testing upper regions of memory.
PS. I have tested the memory with Freescale's proprietary tests (called
DDR Validation) that use USBTAP and the test shows OK.
Can anybody give me a suggestion?
Thank you.

Hi Jan,
I am stack as you: u-boot broken with my IP Cam :-(((
Have you managed to reload your U-boot? Did you have to remove the chip
for external reprogramming? Where did you get the HEXA file? ...
ALL YOUR ADVISE WOULD BE MOST WELCOME.
Thanks in adavance.
Best regards from Geneva.

Add support for T1040RDB and T1042RDB_PI boards
T1040RDB and T1042RDB_PI are similar boards with few differences like
-T1040RDB is reference design board for T1040Soc whereas T1042RDB_PI
is reference design board for T1042 (a reduced personality of T1040
SoC without Integrated 8-port Gigabit)
-T1042RDB_PI has video interface whereas T1040RDB has no such support.
Other peripherals like DDR, NAND flash, NOR flash, SPI flash are same.
t104xrdb contains common code.
T1040RDB and T1042RDB_PI specific code is maintained in form of t1040rdb
t1042rdb_pi respectively
