I'm trying to install and run u-boot in an OMAP Innovator 1510 board. I've downloaded the CVS version of u-boot, configured it with "make omap1510inn_config" and compiled it with no problem. It's installed in the flash and runs. The problem is the flash can't be found -- on startup up Flash: 0 kB is reported and I can't save anything. Other flash accesses are similar. Sample output follows where I've powered on the board, run "flinfo", and tried to do a "saveenv". Any help would be appreciated. [U-Boot-Users] problem about 440gx ppm

my u-boot version is 1.1.1, and the cpu is 440gx. I want to test the cache performance of CPU 440gx utilizing its PLB Performance Monitoring unit. among the events which PPM can monitor is DCU reading, but I am not sure whether this event occurs on every load instruction or on the miss of the disired data in the data cache. thanks.

[U-Boot-Users] 2K page NAND flash

Hi, Can anyone confirm me if u-boot supports 2K page NAND flash? The struct nand_chip has a member page256 to denote if flash device has 256 byte pages or not, so it looks like 2K page flash is not supported in u-boot. I had code to autodetect the ram working but I removed it since it required changes to several files relating to how the DRAM config is handled (printed, passed to kernel, etc). For configurations with more than 32MB of DRAM the layout is not contiguous, ie. more than one bank is required. Since the number of DRAM banks is #defined there is no way to adjust this at runtime. The result is having an extra bank of zero size configured for boards with <= 32MB DRAM. This gives the wrong impression...that there are more DRAM banks but for some reason one is zero size (ie. something is wrong). I've since booted a kernel with the above setup and it seems to deal with the zero size bank fine so I guess this isn't a problem from the operation point of view. It would be nice if either: 1) the number of DRAM banks was configurable at runtime. 2) leave the number of DRAM banks #defined (as max. banks) and simply add checks for zero size in the config print, kernel atag, etc. handling to skip such banks. -- Paul Ruhland

It is hard to say exactly. Perhaps your flash is locked. Many version of the newer OMAP development platforms come with their flash locked. The flash.c code in those has been updated to issue an unlock first. Seems like the innovator may have had two kinds of flash also....it also had a feature where sram could be mapped to 0 instead of flash. I'd first check your jumper settings, then second pinch some code from one of the other omap ports to unlock flash...(that is after making sure its even there and showing up correctly with an debugger). 440gx cpu and ocotea board. when i reset the board, the board cannot work well. i check the u-boot.bin with hexdump -------------------------------------- hexdump -s 0x7fffc u-boot.bin 007fffc ff4b 04f0 -------------------------------------- but after the board boots md.l 0xfffffffc 1 00220000 ------------------------------------- the result is error, so the board cannot reset. I set the _start_440 relative address, it can reset ok. it seems as if the bootrom mapping is error.
