[PATCH] net: use the same alias stem for ethernet as linux

Linux uses the prefix "ethernet" whereas u-boot uses "eth". This is from the linux tree: $ grep "eth[0-9].*=.*&" arch/**/*dts{,i}|wc -l 0 $ grep "ethernet[0-9].*=.*&" arch/**/*dts{,i}|wc -l 633 In u-boot device trees both prefixes are used. Until recently the only user of the ethernet alias was the sandbox test device tree. This changed with commit fc054d563bfb ("net: Introduce DSA class for Ethernet switches"). There, the MAC addresses are inherited based on the devices sequence IDs which is in turn given by the device tree. Before there are more users in u-boot and both worlds will differ even more, rename the alias prefix to "ethernet" to match the linux ones. Also adapt the test cases and rename any old aliases in the u-boot device trees. [PATCH] net: use a more deterministic approach to get the active ethernet device

If the environment variable "ethact" is not set, the first device in the uclass is returned. This depends on the probing order of the ethernet devices. Moreover it is not not configurable at all. Try to return the ethernet device with sequence id 0 first which then can be configured by the aliases in a device tree. Fall back to the old mechanism in case of an error. commit f1bcad22dd19 ("net: e1000: add support for writing to EEPROM") adds support for storing hwaddr in EEPROM however i210 devices do not support this and thus results in errors such as: Warning: e1000#0 failed to set MAC address' Check if a flash device is present and if not return -ENOSYS indicating this is not supported. Legacy boot flow (SPL->U-Boot Proper->OS) boot to OS via Kernel Image and dtb files using booti command. ATF boot flow (SPL->ATF->U-Boot Proper->OS) boot to OS via kernel.itb file using bootm command. Change to use CONFIG_SPL_ATF to differentiate the bootfile of default environment variable. We shouldn't use CONFIG_FIT because it is enabled by default for U-Boot Proper. [PATCH 0/5] Fix i.MXRT1050 hang on lcdif init and improve DT for mxsfb

This patchset fixes u-boot hang on i.MXRT1050 while setting lcdif in mxsfb driver. There are 2 gates to be enabled to initialize mxsfb so let's introduce the missing gate as a clock and rename "per" clock to "pix" clock since in the other .dts files using *-lcdif "pix" is used. This patchset add also "disp_axi" clock enabling in mxsfb that should make able to every i.MX SoC with lcdif using DT. I didn't test it other than i.MXRT1050 since I don't have the boards. If someone can test it it would be great. Note that i.MX23/28 should fail using DT instead because they don't specify any clock-names in their dts. [PATCH] arm: bootm: wrong lmb region reservation when PRAM is used

This is a draft patch to describe the problem and to initiate a discussion for solution. PRAM usage is not taken into account when reserving lmb for ARM architecture, this means that predefined PRAM region is reserved by the u-boot and cannot be used by the u-boot users. In our case this bug leads to non functional ramfs boot, as the PRAM and ram rootfs address ranges are getting reserved by the u-boot. It is obvious that here PRAM region is ignored, but my question is is this clear to everyone and expected? Taking board_f.c as reference, when calculating relocation address PRAM area is taken into account so I would expect that to be case here. Here the intention is to reserve unused space at the end of the effective RAM but PRAM is not part of that. Possible solution would be to introduce something like get_effective_memsize here e.g powerpc/lib/bootm.c but then also NR_DRAM_BANKS has to be considered? 'dma-ranges' frequently exists without parent nodes having 'dma-ranges'. While this is an error for 'ranges', this is fine because DMA capable devices always have a translatable DMA address. Also, with no 'dma-ranges' at all, the assumption is that DMA addresses are 1:1 with no restrictions unless perhaps the device itself has implicit restrictions.
