[PATCH] xilinx: drivers: Use '_' instead of '-' in driver name

The most of drivers are using '_' instead of '-' in driver name. That's why sync up these names to be aligned. It looks quite bad to see both in use. It is visible via dm tree command. [Xilinx Zynq]: spurious UART receive on startup

Hi, I am running into a problem with U-Boot v2020.07 on Xilinx Zynq (Zedboard). If I build U-Boot with the default config (xilinx_zynq_virt_defconfig, DEVICE_TREE=zynq-zed), autoboot will abort, even if no key is pressed. This happens regardless of whether the USB UART is even connected to a PC. I am using boot.bin as generated by U-Boot as the SPL (plus u-boot.img for U-Boot proper). While debugging this, I noticed two things: 1. The Zynq TRM [1] notes in section 19.2.3 ("Baud generator"): IMPORTANT: It is essential to disable the transmitter and receiver before writing to the Baud Rate Generator register (uart.Baud_rate_gen_reg0), or the baud rate divider register (uart.Baud_rate_divider_reg0). A soft reset must be issued to both the transmitter and receiver before they are re-enabled. However, the code in _uart_zynq_serial_setbrg() (in drivers/serial/serial_zynq.c) does not seem to do that. 2. It seems that the Zynq BootROM actually touches the registers for UART1. I have no idea why it does that, but table 6-22 ("BootROM Modified Registers") in the TRM lists several UART1 registers that have been modified from their reset value. In particular, the control register at 0xE0001000 contains the value 0x00000114 after the BootROM ran. As zynq_serial_probe() checks if TX is enabled (bit 4 in the control register), and only writes to the control register if it is not, the end result is that U-Boot never really initializes UART1 or resets its TX or RX path. If the debug UART functionality (CONFIG_DEBUG_UART_ZYNQ) is enabled, _debug_uart_init() writes to the control register unconditionally and resets the TX/RX path. Indeed, enabling the debug UART functionality makes my problem disappear. The debug UART was enabled by default in zynq_zed_defconfig (in v2019.10), but this changed when switching to a single Zynq configuration (xilinx_zynq_virt_defconfig) for v2020.07. Note that the above workaround fixes the problem for me, but I wanted to report it in case other people run into the same issue. CONFIG_ENV_OVERWRITE disables write protection on various environment variables like "ethaddr" and "serial". Enable this config in LS1046A and LS1012A defconfigs. This resolves an error while setting multiple values of "ethaddr" variable. I have a board for which doing "sf erase 0x100000 0x80000" consistently causes the external watchdog circuit to reset the board. Make sure to pet the watchdog during slow operations such as erasing or writing large areas of a spi nor flash. This command is currently monolithic and does not support scripts which want to adjust the boot process. This series updates it to be more like 'bootm', in that it has sub-commands for each stage of the boot. This allows some stages to be adjusted or skipped. It also adds a way to dump out the setup block. With these changes it is possible to boot an x86 Chrome OS image from a script. x86: apl: Acessing SPI flash when booting with Coreboot/U-Boot

Hi Simon, Since commit 609b90a6a9c0 ("x86: spi: Rewrite logic for obtaining the SPI memory map") I have trouble accessing the SPI flash on my Apollo Lake board when booting with Coreboot and having U-Boot as the payload. Accessing the SPI flash returns -91 (EPROTOTYPE). My understanding of what happens is the following: - ich_spi_ofdata_to_platdata() calls ich_spi_get_basics(), the parameter 'can_probe' is hardcoded to true - There is no PCH device in my devicetree (there is also no PCH driver contained in my build) - As can_probe is true, ich_spi_get_basics() tries to find a PCH device and returns -EPROTOTYPE as it finds none As far as I see the PCH is not used in the code paths relevant to Apollo Lake. I think this behavior can not be triggered in a standalone U-Boot on Apollo Lake, as in this case arch_cpu_init_tpl() requires an LPC, which is below the PCH, and so a PCH has to be part of the devicetree anyway. In this case a PCH would be found in ich_spi_get_basics(), but it would not get used. As a quick workaround [1], I have set can_probe hardcoded to false, and with this change I can access the SPI flash again. Do you have any advice on how to fix this? [PATCH] acpi: device: Fix check for sequence number

Currently the function acpi_check_seq() checks whether dev->req_seq is unequal to "-1", but it should actually check dev->seq. Change it to check dev->seq. For req_seq the value "-1" would be a valid (meaning 'any'), while for seq the value "-1" means 'none' and is not valid. Quoting the description of udevice in device.h: * @req_seq: Requested sequence number for this device (-1 = any) * @seq: Allocated sequence number for this device (-1 = none). * This is set up when the device is probed and will be unique * within the device's uclass.
