Hi, am335x-icev2 has 2 Ethernet ports that can be used either as CPSW ethernet (RMII mode) or PRUSS ethernet (MII mode) using jumpers placed next to the port on the board. As a different PHY clock is required for RMII mode vs MII mode, we detect the jumper setting and set the PHY clock frequency accordingly. [U-Boot] [PATCH PATCH v1] watchdog: Fix Watchdog Reset while in U-Boot Prompt

Hardware: CM-FX6 Module from Compulab This patch fixes unwanted watchdog resets while the user enters a command at the U-Boot prompt. As found on the CM-FX6 board from Compulab, when having enabled the watchdog, a missing WATCHDOG_RESET call in common/console.c causes this and alike boards to reset when the watchdog's timeout has elapsed while waiting at the U-Boot prompt. Despite the user could press several keys within the watchdog timeout limit, the while loop in cli_readline.c, line 261, does only call WATCHDOG_RESET if first == 1, which gets set to 0 in the 1st loop iteration. This leads to a watchdog timeout no matter if the user presses keys or not. Although, this affects other boards as well as it touches common/console.c, the macro WATCHDOG_RESET expands to {} if watchdog support isn't configured. Hence, there's no harm caused and no need to surround it by #ifdef in this case. * Symptom: U-Boot resets after watchdog times out when in commandline prompt and watchdog is enabled. * Reasoning: When U-Boot shows the commandline prompt, the following function call stack is executed while waiting for a keypress: common/main.c: main_loop => common/cli.c: cli_loop() => common/cli_hush.c: parse_file_outer => parse_stream_outer => parse_stream => b_getch(i) => i->get(i) => file_get => get_user_input => cmdedit_read_input => uboot_cli_readline => common/cli_readline.c: cli_readline => cli_readline_into_buffer => cread_line => getcmd_getch (== getc) => common/console.c: fgetc => console_tstc common/console.c: (with CONFIG_CONSOLE_MUX is set) - in console_tstc line 181: If dev->tstc(dev) returns 0, the global tstcdev variable doesn't get set. We generate a few tables on x86 today that really can be used on ARM just the same. One such example is the SMBIOS table, which people use with tools like "dmidecode" to identify which hardware they are running on. We're slowly growing needs to collect serial numbers from various devices on ARM and SMBIOS seems the natural choice. So this patch set moves the current SMBIOS generation into generic code and adds serial number exposure to it. Hi all, This patch is actually a follow-up of the one from Peng Fan: https://patchwork.ozlabs.org/patch/616568/ As he mentioned at the time, the current i.MX source code doesn't allow to build a U-Boot that supports encryption features (dek commands). The reason is that the commit 2bb01482 did some cleanup, removing usec2ticks which is mandatory for the Freescale/NXP job ring code to build. At the time of the original patch, Tom/Stefano said that a configuration would need to leverage those options and some of the config should be moved to Kconfig. The goal of this series is to enable it with the nitrogen6x platform configuration. As a first version, this series only adds the CONFIG_SECURE_BOOT to the imx-common Kconfig so it can be enabled using menuconfig. If this is not sufficient, the nitrogen6*_defconfig could be duplicated into nitrogen6*_hab_defconfig but it sounds like a lot of copy just to enable HAB features. No need to say that we would prefer keeping our default defconfig without the HAB feature enabled. Then I think the variables could actually be moved from nitrogen6x.h to mx6_common.h and mx7_common.h. Maybe need to split it in 2 since CONFIG_CSF_SIZE is sufficient to achieve binary signature. The other options are only required if you want to encrypt the binary (which requires the use of dek_blob command. Let me know your thoughts. I wasn't able to load the linux kernel using a Rock2 board using the latest master branch. The board hangs after it has handed executing over to the kernel. I found that the latest release that worked was v2016.03. I did some searching and I suspect the problem may be cache related. This patchset allows the kernel to start by reverting two problem commits and disabling EFI_LOADER which I suspect rubs the caching the wrong way. We also found that the 512M limit for fdt and initrd is now 256M. I'm not sure why this is. This still doesn't work 100%. I think it's not initializing the SD card volages correctly, but at least the Kernel is loading. I also am not sure changing the caching for all armv7 is the right answer. I wasn't too sure about the revert. I am not very familiar with this low level stuff. The Marvell Link Street mv88e60xx is a series of FastEthernet switch chips, some of which also support Gigabit ports. It is similar to the mv88e61xx series which support Gigabit on all ports. The main difference is the number of ports. Which affects the PORT_COUNT define and the size of the mask passed to mv88e61xx_port_set_vlan(). Other than that it's just a matter of adding the appropriate chip IDs.
