I've tried three different USB keyboards on an A20-Olinuxino-Micro and a Banana Pi, and I always get that error "cannot reset port N!?" where N is whichever USB socket I've plugged it into, and U-Boot cannot see the keyboard. Once Linux has loaded, the keyboard works without any trouble. Can anyone suggest what is causing this? Thank you, B.R. Oake.

This patch series first zaps a couple of ancient boards and ugly code which was in the way of proper cleanup for the eeprom command. Once that is done, the eeprom command undergoes proper cleaning. Finally, there is one patch which adds support for selecting on which bus the I2C EEPROM is. [U-Boot] Relocation issue - need help!

Hi, I'm trying to track down a "syntax error" issue that gets triggered when erasing the U-Boot image in NOR flash. Symptoms look like this: => print update update=protect off 0xfc000000 +${filesize};erase 0xfc000000 +${filesize};cp.b 200000 0xfc000000 ${filesize};protect on 0xfc000000 +${filesize} => run update Un-Protected 2 sectors .. done Erased 2 sectors syntax error Protected 2 sectors => run update syntax error git bisect found commit 199adb6 "common/misc: sparse fixes" as culprit; breaking this down further showed a single line in common/cli_hush.c to trigger the problem. Hi, We have recently started working on arndale and running u-boot head on it. Seems like it is crashing on our setup with a data abort on usb start. Hi Everyone, Sinced a few days I noticed some problems writing the uimage to a FAT partition on my SD-card. At first I was afraid of some (physical) SD-card problems, but it appears to be related to he size of the uImage. In the earlier reported problem, a patch is mentioned, but not available for dowload here. Also in the latest versions of the git repository I could not find a patch for this problem. [U-Boot] [PATCH] sunxi: Machine id hack to prevent loading buggy sunxi-3.4 kernels

Store the 'compatibility revision' number in the top 4 bits of the machine id and pass it to the kernel. The old buggy kernels will fail to load with a very much googlable error message on the serial console: "Error: unrecognized/unsupported machine ID (r1 = 0x100010bb)" This error message can be documented in the linux-sunxi wiki with proper explanations about how to resolve this situation and where to get the necessary bugfixes for the sunxi-3.4 kernel. The fixed sunxi-3.4 kernels can implement a revision compatibility check and clear the top 4 bits of the machine id if everything is alright. [U-Boot] Regression in usb-storage in u-boot 2015.04 ???

Hi, First of all I'm not sure this is a regression, but I'm afraid I do not have time to dig deeper so I thought I should report it anyways and then others can try to reproduce it. I'm seeing the following happen when using a usb stick with a musb-new otg controller in host mode on an allwinner tablet: sunxi# usb reset resetting USB... USB0: scanning bus 0 for devices... 1 USB Device(s) found scanning usb for storage devices... error in inquiry 0 Storage Device(s) found The interesting thing is that, the first "usb start" works fine, this only happens on the second usb start (triggered through a usb reset). This may be specific to using musb on sunxi, or to the flashdrive I have but I thought I should report this anyways. To support this, defer the parsing of the device string to the IO backed, so that it can apply the appropriate rules. SPI devices are specified as controller:chip_select. SPI/SF support will be added soon. MMC devices can also be specified as controller[.hwpart][:partition] in many commands, although we don't support that syntax in DFU. [U-Boot] Can't start Linux if U-Boot built with CONFIG_WATCHDOG

Hello all, I've added watchdog support based on U-Boot (git) for the m68k coldfire mcf54455evb platform. I've fed the patch to the maintainer to help in development. However, I am unable to start my m68k w/MMU coldfire Linux kernel from U-Boot if U-Boot is built with CONFIG_WATCHDOG regardless if the watchdog_enable(), watchdog_reset() and watchdog_disable() functions touch hardware or not. I initially thought this was a problem with enabling the watchdog somehow (ie when Linux started, some hw configuration in the device was getting upset or corrupted etc resulting in the failure), but when I commented out the code from the above functions that actually accesses the hw (ie to enable, kick and disable the watchdog timer hw block), Linux is still unable to start. In fact, I don't think Linux actually gets started! That's the problem. If I rebuild the same U-Boot code base with CONFIG_WATCHDOG undefined, Linux can start just fine. As far as I can tell, there are no functional differences in building U-Boot with or without CONFIG_WATCHDOG enabled when the functions above are stubs and do absolutely nothing at all. If I build U-Boot with debug, what I see is as follows: ## Transferring control to Linux (at address 40020000) ... BIV ...and then the board is dead. I suspect that the failure of starting Linux is caused by some mismatch in data structures (or versions there of) shared/copied between Linux and U-Boot and that this data has somehow changed when U-Boot is built with CONFIG_WATCHDOG #defined. However, I can't find any evidence of this in the U-Boot code base. The bras instruction above must be key and I suspect that this is the area causing the problem. Can anybody offer any advice / explanation of what exactly could be going on and why? I wouldn't have expected that defining CONFIG_WATCHDOG would change anything as fundamental as this.
