[U-Boot] [PATCH] OpenRD: relocate environment to 640kB

U-Boot has become slightly larger than where the environment sector was previously located. Saving the environment would brick the device. Relocate the environment to where it is with the stock (i.e. Marvell USP) U-Boot version. That should give plenty of room for U-Boot to grow, including local customisations. This obviously breaks compatibility with previous mainline versions of U-Boot. Users will need to back up the environment before an update and restore it afterwards, or manually copy it to the new address before the update. [U-Boot] [PATCH v2] gpio: spear_gpio: Fix gpio_set_value() implementation

In current gpio_set_value() implementation, it always sets the gpio control bit no matter the value argument is 0 or 1. Thus the GPIOs never set to low. This patch fixes this bug. The address bus is used as a mask on read/write operations, so that independent software drivers can set their GPIO bits without affecting any other pins in a single write operation. Thus we don't need a read-modify-write to update the register. A board that has a USB ethernet device only may set the usbetheraddr and not the ethaddr. ethaddr will be the default MAC address that is chosen and if that is not populated then the usbethaddr is looked at. If neither are set then then device tree blob is not modified. [U-Boot] [PATCH] Separate EBV Socrates board from Altera Cyclone 5 board

Altera Cyclone 5 board is very different board (big, rectangular, expensive) than EBV Socrates (small, circular, cheap) board. Different parts are used there, too, but same configuration of u-boot works on both. Nevertheless, printing wrong name confuses users. Therefore this splits the configuration so that u-boot knows they are different. So far it is only used for correcting the puts, but there may be other uses in future. PSCI is an ARM standard that provides a generic interface that supervisory software can use to manage power in the following situations: - Core idle management - CPU hotplug - big.LITTLE migration models - System shutdown and reset It basically allows the kernel to offload these tasks to the firmware, and rely on common kernel side code. More importantly, it gives a way to ensure that CPUs enter the kernel at the appropriate exception level (ie HYP mode, to allow the use of the virtualization extensions), even across events like CPUs being powered off/on or suspended. The main idea here is to reuse some of the existing u-boot code to create a separate blob that can live in SRAM (or a reserved page of memory), containing a secure monitor that will implement the PSCI operations. This code will still be alive when u-boot is long gone, hence the need for a piece of memory that will not be touched by the OS. This patch series contains 3 parts: - the first four patches are just bug fixes - the next three contain the generic PSCI code and build infrastructure - the last two implement the CPU_ON method of the Allwinner A20 (aka sun7i). I realize the A20 u-boot code is not upstream yet (BTW is anyone actively working on that?), but hopefully that should give a good idea of how things are structured so far. The patches are against a merge of u-boot mainline and the sunxi tree as of ten days ago. PMIC framework has been redesigned to support multiple instances of power related devices (e.g. fuel gauge, PMICs, chargers, micro USB IC, battery). Due to that, code at other architectures and boards have been adjusted properly. New power_init_board() method at ./lib/board.c file has been introduced. It is meant to be an architecture dependent function to support advanced power management. Since PMIC framework uses lists internally to link different devices, its initialization must be done just after malloc initialization. Please consider commits from this patch set as the example of advanced power management for a particular HW (Trats board in this case). In the new approach PMICs are selected with their names (e.g. 'pmic dump MAX8997_PMIC') Presented patch set is a first step to change 'pmic' command to more generic (i.e. power) to provide control for multiple devices. [U-Boot] [PATCH 2/2] T1040QDS: Add support of 2 stage SPI bootloader

Add support of 2-stage T1040QDS SPI bootloader using SPL framework. In this, PBL (hardware) initializes SRAM (256K) and copy SPL (192K) from SPI flash to SRAM and transfer control to SPL. This SPL bootloader furthur initializes DDR using SPD and environment and copy final u-boot image (512K) from SPI flash to DDR and transfer control to final u-boot.
