hi: i found u-boot 2011.03 many init func moved to board_init_f,which run in flash(when boot_norflash).in version 2010.09 it's run after relocate in ram. i compiled 2011.03 with CS 2010.09 linker with -Ttext 0x23f00000 the code in board_init_f linked with ptr like 0x23fxxxxx (such as init_baudrate) how could the code work when it is in flash? and i cant find changlog file where is it? thanks!

I suspect this function is called way too early for NAND env to be available. I can set the flag unconditionally and that works fine, but I don't think that that will make a patch worthy of submission...? Any thoughts? Thanks, Nick.

Hello, I am trying to understand the logic behind the implementation of SPI interface, and came across a validity routine (for different baords it is about the same): for Atmel and Davinci for example: int spi_cs_is_valid(unsigned int bus, unsigned int cs) { return bus == 0 && cs == 0; } Althout atmel and davinci can have more then one spi port, it seems that they will fail in configuration if bus is different then 0. Hi, We cannot ping to our PC from u-boot but we can ping from ubuntu. The version of u-boot shipped on the board is U-Boot 2009.08-00252-g9a215c3-dirty (Jan 27 2011 - 15:11:20). Can anybody help? [U-Boot] data alignment problem with redundant env

Hi, moving to latest U-Boot introduces some issues with the environment. Setup: - PowerPC based boards (52xx / 83xx) - Environments are in flash with redundancy Dumping flash the environments with dd and using hexdump shows : - crc32 - flags Data (first entry beginning with 'a'). 0000000: b0ea 7858 0100 64... 0000010: ... Regarding to include/environment.h data is "unsigned char" as well as data[]. To me it looks like 2-byte wide flags (or 16-bit alignment of data) is wrong. Although env modification within u-boot only is safe it breakother tools modifying the environment within e.g. Linux. This happened somewhere between v2010.9 and current master. Back then U-Boot env data started on byte 5. Do we need an attribute(packed) on the env struct ? Any help is welcome.
