Hello, these patches clean up the support for a4m072 board and related things. Fourth patch is pretty generic actually but as it's only needed for a4m072 AFAIK I post it in these series. Joakim, your commit d1e0b10accdbac2e0a8b2cbf7c589645442f87c5 renders my MPC8377 based board unbootable. Two weeks ago I got this after power on : U-Boot 2010.09-00486-gfda6278-dirty (Oct 22 2010 - 16:19:20) MPC83XX Reset Status: CPU: e300c4, MPC8377, Rev: 2.1 at 533.333 MHz, CSB: 266.667 MHz Board: Matrix Vision MergerBox .... After rebasing my work to current master completely silences the serial line and the CPU doesn't come up. Bisection leads to your patch. reverting it makes the board work again. Any ideas ? BTW: - I'm using ELDK-4.2 toolchain. - mvBLM7 (=MPC8343 based) works fine. [U-Boot] ELF_RELOC causes strange I-cache issues

Hello everybody, after nailing down a few USB and FAT related bugs we had USB running stable on i.MX31, but suddenly the current mainline code behaves strangely again: Repeating simple calls like "usb read 80800000 0 1000" will reliably hard hang the system after 3...5 calls. The problem can be avoided by switching off the instruction cache (using the "icache off" command). Trying to track down this problem it turns out that somehow the ELF_RELOC patches seem to be responsible for it. I have a source tree that works perfectly fine, with I-caches on, and after cherry-picking the following commits from the elf_reloc branch the problem appears: 92d5ecb 2010-10-13 10:10:21 arm: implement ELF relocations bafe743 2010-10-13 10:12:52 arm1136, qong: add support for ELF relocations However, we cannot find a real cause in the modified code. Here my request for help: - Has anybody experienced similar problems? - Did your tests of the elf_reloc code include any thorough testing of USB mass storage devices? - If you have any suitable hardware around, could you please run a few such tests (as mentioned above, a simple "usb read <addr> 0 1000", repeated 5 times or so, should be sufficient. If you want to be sure, increase the block count and repeat more often. All ideas welcome. Thanks a lot in advance. I want to have ram memory above 4G on a freescale p4080 board since I want to test that 36-bits physical addressing is working, my board has two 2G dimm mounted. The standard 32-bits u-boot on the board says that it can only handle memory less than 4G. I have managed to flashed a 36-bits u-boot to the board and now I realized that the 36-bits u-boot put the two gigs memory below 4G. Is it possible to change something in u-boot so it put one of the memory device above 4G? I think a better solution for me would be to replace the two memory devices with two 4 gigs devices. Does u-boot support larger devices?
