Hi, I am trying to allocate a frame buffer for my LCD code. I think I understand how to set up the LCC controller in the Atmel AT91SAM9. So thats not the issue, at least not yet. I need to understand how UBoot allocates a block of memory for the buffer. My TFT/LCD is 320x240 and in 24 bit mode, so 3 bytes per pixel. So I think I need 320x240x3 total bytes. Correct? [U-Boot] DBCR0 reset problem in MPC8548CDS

Hi, I'm trying to update my u-boot version (1.2) to the last one (2009.03). My board is very similar to MPC8548CDS. Everything was working fine till I tried to use the reset command. It hangs the processor in cpu_init_early_f, when it realocates ccsbar. I'd always used the hard reset in DBCR0 register instead HRESET_REQ that ins't wired in my board. I saw that the value of MSR register came different before reset when I compare with the old u-boot (0x8000 -> 0x29200). There are new writes in this register in this new version, could any of them causing my problem? The major difference beetwen my configuration and default resides in u-boot.lds. [U-Boot] recommended place to identify hardware using i2c-eeprom data.

Hi, I am working on an MP8360E powerpc platform using uboot 2009.03. our boards contain an i2c eeprom that identify the type of board it is. sing this information I would like to have a universal u-boot binary that can read the eeprom and use the data to influence how the rest of the boot proceeds. (e.g setup mac addresses, initialize GPIOs, call setenv to initialize other params). I've tried extracting the information at board_early_init_r (because I need to initialize MAC address later using this information also) and store the information using setenv("partnum" "extracted_board_id"); However, the resulting printenv after boot only contains "pa" with no data, so obviously I am doing something wrong (calling setenv too early?) Is there a recommended way/examples of doing this? I've thought about using the global data, but don't know if there is a struct member that is arch-independent. [U-Boot] Not able to change the UBoot env variables from Linux

Hi, I am trying to access the UBoot variables from Linux. I used the fw_printenv and fw_setenv commands for the same. When I do an fw_printenv I am able to see all the u-boot variables. [U-Boot] at91sam9g20 sd card boot

Greetings, Is there a framework in place for using U-Boot to boot Linux from an SD Card on an at91sam9g20 processor? I've been reading through the code and found at a minimum, I would need to enable the mmc command and the atmel_mci library. Then the mmc commands exist in the console but mmcinfo does nothing. Am I looking in the right place to get this functional? Thank you, Rob

[U-Boot] Linux hangs when uncompressing kernel image: linux-2.6.26

Hello I've been working on building a 2.6.26 linux kernel to the mpc5200Lite PowerPc board. However, I am unable to boot the system using the generated image. I am using what seems to be the latest U-Boot for the job. Got it from www.denx.de/git/u-boot.git. I'm using the device tree compiler dtc-v1.2.0 to compile the device tree source into a device tree blob. Got it at: http://jdl.com/software/dtc-latest.tgz For the device, my design procedure is the following: 1. In the first step I generate the uImage file ('make ARCH=powerpc zImage'), the corresponding lite5200b.dts and compile it to lite5200b.dtb. 2. Afterwards, I do the U-Boot configs. I define 0x00600000 as the device tree address and 0x00200000 as the uImage's. 3. Finally, I transfer them all (using tftp for each, of course) and try to boot: 'bootm 0x00200000 - 0x00600000' The result is that the console hangs... Does anyone have any idea of why it happens? I checked a similar problem at the http://www.denx.de/wiki/view/DULG/LinuxHangsAfterUncompressingKernel, and I'm almost convinced that it is probably a bd_info problem, concerning the definitions of the kernel's IMAP_ADDR and the CFG_IMMR of U-Boot to be unmatching.
