The attached patch adds support for the Amstrad Delta (E3) Videophone. Currently the Amstrad primary bootloader provides the main hardware initialisation and then loads u-boot to handle user interaction and kernel loading. I'd appreciate any comments you may have. Hi all, I'm not sure if it's entirely on topic but here we go: We've been trying to set the local bus speed of the MPC8540 to 82MHz without much success until now. We're using Uboot 1.1.4 with our own board.c code mostly ripped from the 8540ADS board. In the code there's some info about a workaround for the DLL of te cpu: /* * Errata LBC11. * Fix Local Bus clock glitch when DLL is enabled. * * If localbus freq is < 66Mhz, DLL bypass mode must be used. * If localbus freq is > 133Mhz, DLL can be safely enabled. * Between 66 and 133, the DLL is enabled with an override workaround. */ But actually, the 82Mhz is in between those values. In this code, the U-Boot stops working after the LCRR is assigned and doesn't even get to the udelay part (checked with printfs) lbc->lcrr = CFG_LBC_LCRR & (~0x80000000); /* DLL Enabled */ Udelay(200); Disabling or enabling has the same result, the clock speed of the bus has changed though to 82MHz (checked it with the scope). Hello, Attached is a patch implementing multiple I2C buses on the MPC834x CPU family and the MPC8349EMDS board in particular. This patch requires Patch 1 (Add support for multiple I2C buses). Testing was performed on a 533MHz board. CHANGELOG: Implemented driver-level code to support two I2C buses on the MPC834x CPU family and the MPC8349EMDS board. Available I2C bus speeds are 50kHz, 100kHz and 400kHz on each bus. regards, Ben

Hello, Attached is a patch providing support for multiple I2C buses at the command level. The second part of the patch includes an implementation for the MPC834x CPU and MPC8349EMDS board. Note - this does not include support for 10-bit addresses. That's too profound a change to include here... Hopefully this addresses concerns with my previous attempts. Overview: 1. Include new 'i2c' command (based on USB implementation) using CONFIG_I2C_CMD_TREE. Note - I opted to not use the last remaining CMD bit in 'include/cmd_confdefs.h'. 2. Allow multiple buses by defining CONFIG_I2C_MULTI_BUS. Note that this is only available under the new 'i2c' command mentioned in bullet 1. 3. Allow by-passing of devices when probing a bus by defining CFG_I2C_MULTI_NOPROBES. This is an array of bus-device pairs that will be skipped by the 'i2c probe' command. CHANGELOG: Added new 'i2c' master command for all I2C interaction. This is conditionally compiled with CONFIG_I2C_CMD_TREE. New commands added for setting I2C bus speed as well as changing the active bus if the board has more than one bus (conditionally compiled with CONFIG_I2C_MULTI_BUS). Added a list of devices to ignore when probing the buses when more than one bus is present. Updated README. regards, Ben

[U-Boot-Users] What is flush_cache() supposed to do?

Hi all, When doing some cleanups to the AVR32 port, I just noticed that I haven't actually implemented flush_cache(). What is the purpose of that function? Should it flush the icache, the dcache or both? Things seem to work fine as it is, even though the AT32AP7000 has a write-back cache which is enabled all the time in u-boot. Also, it seems to be called mostly from commands that load things into memory, but not all (ext2load does not seem to call it, for example.) I do however flush the caches before transferring control to the Linux kernel. Maybe that's what saves me? Haavard

Haavard, Your "-gstabs" -> "-g" patch breaks the build of the ARM version of U-boot. You should check if the build is for an AVR32 and then use "-g" otherwise use "-gstabs". Please update your patch. Best Regards Ulf Samuelsson

In fact, it is the ESR (Exception Syndrome Register) that indicated the cause of the exception. I checked, and it does not appear that this register is provided in the pt_regs struct. So now to my question: Am I on the right track here? Has anyone else looked at this and fixed this code if it is in fact broken? If it needs fixing, can anyone provide some pointers? BTW, I am using a reasonably (< 3 week old) U-Boot from the Denx git repository. Thanks! Keith

The various files there should be familiar to anyone who have used -mm versions of the Linux kernel.
