The patch fixes the following error when updating a BSH SMM S2 board:
3:72>Start Cmd:FB[-t 8000]: ucmd nand write ${loadaddr} nanddtb ${filesize}
3:72>Okay (0.023s)
3:72>Start Cmd:FB: reboot
3:72>Fail Bulk(R):LIBUSB_ERROR_IO(0s)
The "fastboot reboot" command detaches the USB when it still needs to be
used. So let's detach the USB just before the reset.

The GPMC is a unified memory controller dedicated for interfacing
with external memory devices like
- Asynchronous SRAM-like memories and ASICs
- Asynchronous, synchronous, and page mode burst NOR flash
- NAND flash
- Pseudo-SRAM devices
The ELM module is used for GPMC NAND accesses for detecting
and correcting errors during reads due to NAND bitflips errors.
4-, 8-, and 16-bit error-correction levels are supported using
the BCH (Bose-ChaudhurI-Hocquenghem) algorithm.

Hi Maintainers,
I'm an engineer who is porting u-boot in my project.
Now we find almost dm cases in folder test/dm depend on SANDBOX,
is it possiable to run them in local uboot console directly?
A big challenge is that there are various hardware peripherals,
I have no idea to handle it.

Hi everyone,
I've been trying to turn on my lcd backlight at the u-boot stage to no
avail. The device tree has a top level node whose compatible is
'pwm-backlight'. That driver never seems to get probed. The same problem is
described here

I'm new to u-boot so please bear with me. From what I can gather from the
docs a device gets activated/probed when *uclass_get_device *and friends
are called. However I keep getting NULL, while
*uclass_id_count(UCLASS_PANEL_BACKLIGHT)
*correctly reports 1 device. A *dm_dump_all* at this stage shows the
backlight is probed. All these calls are made in *board_late_init.*
Does this have to do with the backlight being a top level device in the
devicetree ?? Or is the a wrong assumption I'm making ? Any help would be
greatly appreciated.

The Linux kernel device tree already specifies the device to be used for
boot console output with a stdout-path property under /chosen.

Hey all,
It's release day and so here's v2023.01. I want to note now that once I
merge in the next branch, there'll have been some pretty big changes
merged in, mainly that CONFIG -> Kconfig migration will finally be
largely done (there's some corner case symbols I'm tracking down next,
but they weren't enabled normally anyhow). So please test your platforms
out to ensure that nothing was inadvertantly broken. And if you see a DM
migration warning printed while building, lets get the migration done,
or speak up as to what's holding things back.
In terms of a changelog,
git log --merges v2023.01-rc4..v2023.01
contains what I've pulled since the last RC or:
git log --merges v2022.10..v2023.01
for changes since the last full release. As always, more details in
pull requests (or the tags referenced by them) will result in more
details here.
And now the merge window continues to be open and I'll merge next in to
master shortly. v2023.04 is scheduled for release on Monday, April 4th
2023 and the merge window closes on January 30th.
On that note, I want to try something a bit different moving forward.
I'm going to open the -next branch when I release -rc2, and by that
point changes for master need to be fairly clearly in the "fixes
something" category. If it's a new feature or platform that's late, it
can go to -next, which will be open and I'll be encouraging people to
look at and test. Why? The biggest issue we ran in to with this release
has been changes that came in late and had unintended side effects. I
should have taken them to next instead, honestly. So this is how we
address the problem moving forward I think, being stricter about changes
to master and by also having a schedule on when next will be open and an
expectation to use it.
