Android code base is growing, so since Android "Pie" the size of system.img grew up to be about 740 MiB. Let's increase system.img to 1 GiB to accommodate for those changes and leave some margin for future changes. We don't want to make it more than 1 GiB, because we should keep userdata partition big enough (for user files, like media etc.), and eMMC size on BeagleBoard-X15 is only 3.5 GiB. Remove unused Android partitions: - efs, crypto, cache: we don't use it anymore (images are not built in AOSP - ipu1, ipu2: IPU firmware is now a part of vendor image and doesn't reside as a separate partition While at it, rename "reserved" partition to "uboot-env", as it's actually stores U-Boot environment. [U-Boot] [RFC] Reserve ATF memory on Marvell Armdada 3700/7K/8K

Currently U-Boot doesn't make any effort to reserve the memory used by ARM Trusted Firmware on these platforms. The result is that the memory is listed as available in the EFI memory map. And as soon as a loaded kernel tries to use this memory things explode. I've seen this with the OpenBSD kernel. But I totally expect a Linux kernel to suffer the same fate. I'm currently using the diff below, but it is not entirely clear to me if arch_early_init_r() is the appropriate place to do this. I'm also wondering whether the block should also be marked as reserved in the FDT using fdt_add_mem_rsv(). If the latter is required this probably needs to be done by ft_board_setup() or ft_system_setup(). The address and size of the region have been taken from Marvell's ATF fork at https://github.com/MarvellEmbeddedProcessors/atf-marvell The memory layout is defined in plat/marvell/a8k/common/include/platform_def.h where there are lots of defines and a diagram that attempt to describe the memory. It is not entirely obvious to me what part needs to be reserved. While working on different iMX6 platforms, I've encountered some issue with a couple of NAND device while booting from SPL. It seems that there's a NAND protocol violation in ONFI detection: I try a naive fix, which works only for LP NAND. However, AFAIK, all the mxs_nand_spl code is minimalistic and assume it's working with a LP NAND. A more generic approach will have a bigger impact and requires more tests. I've also changed mxs_flash_ident() code so, when legacy full-ident detection is enabled, this one is used only as fall back when ONFI detection fails. This is closer to standard MTD implementation than the previous solution, where ONFI and full-ident detection where mutually exclusive. This has been originally developed on old v2017.03 but ported on current master. At present SPL is used on 64-bit platforms, to allow SPL to be built as a 32-bit program and U-Boot proper to be built as 64-bit. However it is useful to be able to use SPL on any x86 platform, where U-Boot needs to be updated in the field. Then SPL can select which U-Boot to run (A or B) and most of the code can be updated. Similarly, using TPL allows both SPL and U-Boot to be updated. This is the best approach, since it means that all of U-Boot proper as well as SPL (in particular SDRAM init) can be updated in the field. This provides for the smallest possible amount of read-only (non-updateable) code: just the TPL code. This series contains a number of changes to allow x86 boards to use TPL, SPL and U-Boot proper. As a test, it is enabled for samus with a new chromebook_samus_tpl board.
