Some board require spi_flash_free to be called after all the accesses, in order, for instance, to restore the pin multiplexing configuration in the case where the SPI pins are multiplexed. This patch series tries to enhance this. Patch 1 adds spi_flash_free calls to env_sf so that the SPI interface is always "cleaned up" after the env read/writes. Patch 2 adds a 'sf release' command that implicitly calls spi_flash_free and is thus the pendant of 'sf probe'. Patch 3 uses the 'sf command' for the km_arm board scripts. [U-Boot] Call for participation in the U-Boot Mini Summit 2014

Hi, as already indicated, we are looking forward to our next U-Boot Mini Summit at Embedded Linux Conference Europe 2014 which will take place in Düsseldorf, Germany from October 13 - 15. The call for papers of the main conference is now open[1] and if you want to submit a talk for the main tracks, you should note the deadline of July 11. For our U-Boot Mini Summit, I'd like to get the schedule completed synchronized to the schedule release of the main event, which is August 12. So please submit talk proposals here with at least me on CC. To coordinate the event better, I have setup another wiki page[2] that can and _should_ be edited by the interested parties. Feel free for example to add yourself to the "interested participants" so that we get an idea of how many of the U-Boot developers will be there. There may be some custom boards in the field which have an seperate eeprom chip to store edid informations in it. To make use of those edid information in the board code this patch add a function to convert edid to fb_videomode. [U-Boot] newbie questions regarding some config options.

As per the README file: Subscribe to u-boot mailing list; if (clueless) email("Hi, I am new to U-Boot, how do I get started?"); I'm messing around with uboot and QEMU (qemu-system-arm -M realview-pbx-a9 -kernel u-boot.bin), things are going pretty well in the sense that I'm not having too much trouble reading most of the code and creating a new board. I have some questions that I can't figure out by reading the code. What is the CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASE variable and how can I figure out what it should be? How can I determine the "size of the environment"? Is it the number of characters including variable names?
