Hi, I'am new with PowerPc and try to boot the MPC8315ERDB board with u-boot (1.3.3). All standard images build from the linux powerpc arch won't work. I see in the uImage there is a kernel image and a initrd image. At the moment I build the image by hand with mkimage including kernel, initrd and dtb. Could someone give me the standard way to boot? PCI outbound address map configuration doesn't match the PCI memory address range covered by appropriate TLB entry configuration for canyonlands causing machine check exceptions while accessing PCI memory regions. This patch provides a fix for this issue. Kazuaki Ichinohe observed and reported this issue while testing display output with PCI ATI video card on canyonlands. Dear Developers, I am very new on embedded world, so I face off many difficulties because of my lack of experince.Now my problem is that I want to change some default boot parametes on U-Boot , like bootdelay, bootargs, etc. How can I do that changes on UBoot, and How can I cross compile U-Boot . Hello, I'm working on booting Linux from a Virtex 5 ml507 board using U-boot version 1.3.4. I have successfully booted Linux on an AVNET ml405 board before with no problems, but that was with an earlier version of u-boot. I have narrowed down the problem to DHCP Request errors. It sends the DHCP Request, the Server recognizes it but because of missing fields, the packet is discarded, and the board does not get a response. I think that an edit in net/bootp.c could work, adding a case 55 field for option 55 in the *popt switch, but I'm not sure exactly what I should do for that, I may mess up the packet. Greetings, I am trying to x86 cross-compile u-boot 2009.03-rc2 for the MCF5270 with gcc 4.3.3 and binutils 2.19.1 results in a u-boot that fails its relocation to RAM. If I do objdump -d on the ELF, the newer toolchain seems to align code on 16-bit boundary, while the old one align code on 32-bit boundary. 3. With gcc-4.3.3. if I enforce -m5307, I got an error: start.S:144: Error: operands mismatch -- statement `movec %d0,%RAMBAR1' ignored Faking RAMBAR1 to RAMBAR bypasses this error, but the resulting binary won't boot (e.g. no single printf is printed after a reset). Questions: 1. What am I missing? 2. What are the recommended tool-chain for building M5270 coldfire for u-boot? Thanks very much for your time, - Richard
