Mr Dyer, I have indeed seen the ChangeLogs for u-boot version 1.1.5, stating that support for these chips have been added, but that would assume that the cfi information could be read in the first place. I seem to be unable to put the flash chip into CFI Query mode in the software, although issuing the exact same commands manually with a BDI effortlessly displays the QRY message in the flash, so I don't think the problem lays with the chip not (fully) supporting the CFI. I have been changing configuration settings, but to no avail. Hello List, i am using a AT91RM9200-DK based board with 128Mb CFI Flash and U-Boot 1.1.5. While erasing larger areas (>5MB) i get "Flash erase timeout" at several adresses. The number of wait states for flash is checked and high enough. I triggered in cfi_flash.c in flash_status_check() behind get_timer() and found that get_timer() sometimes returned a negative number like 0xfff..... The timer functions are derived from the TC0 which is a 16 timer clocked at 30MHz with a reload value of ~30000. An overflow appears at 1000/s (HZ=1000). Function get_timer() calls basically get_timer_raw() which reads the 16 bit timer TC0. I think that overflows are not handled correctly in this for "if( now >= lastinc" must fail when a wrap appeared between two calls of it. Has anyone similar problems or found a work around ? Hi all, I am quite new to U-Boot, 'm trying to change u-boot 1.2.0 distribution for Freescale Argonavis evaluation board (mounting FSL 8641D) in order to obtain the following behaviour: - run u-boot on core1 instead f core0 ASAP. My "state-of-the art" is the following: in start.S (cold_boot) when running from core0 (startup core) I unlock core1 MPX bus, then I raise a hreset to core1 via PRR: at this point core0 has finished. Then, core1 starts and executes u-boot normally. Point is: u-boot is executed, got prompt, etc... but some of the peripherals does not work. For instance, I cannot receive or transmit ethernet frames through any of the 4 ports. Any hint on how to proceed? Another problem is obtaining an up-to-date source tree from a ftp site: I do not have access to cvs repositories from my intranet due to my ISA server, but current 1.2.0 officially downloadable from DENX ftp site seems to miss all the 8641D-specific changes I've seen browsing the u-boot-users mailing list. I want to use the u-boot-1.1.2 to boot my board. I used a piece of sst39vf3201 nor flash chip( 32Mbit) on my board. After analyzing the u-boot source code, I can't find the files that I should modifed! I can't find the international device ID for sst39vf3201. I know the international device ID of sst39vf320 is 0x48, what about the sst39vf3201? Can I directly use the processing function about sst39vf160 (such as read, write, erase, ....) to operate the sst39vf3201? I want to use the com1 serial port of s3c44b0 embedded processor to communicating with the host, Which files in u-boot can I modified ? Pleash give my some advices! Hi, Iam using U-boot 1.1.6, In the include/configs folder, in the ixdp425.h file, I wanted to know the below. 1> Why is the CFG_HZ set as 3333333 ? Is this for the Bus for UART? I read its 66MHz 2> What is CONFIG_KGDB_SER_INDEX? Its now set to 2, is it connected to my serial console port? 3> What is PHYS_SDRAM_1_SIZE? Will it be the total SDRAM size or size of 1 SDRAM?? Iam using two SDRAM's 128Mbit each, connected to CS0 having D0-D15 and D16-D31 datalines respectively. Hence Iam using total size of 32MB SDRAM (2 SDRAM's of 128Mbit --> 8Mx16) in thsi case, what sgould my PHYS_SDRAM_1_SIZE be set to? All, What is the methodology for restoring an environment back to the default? I'm currently storing to NVM and the code only uses the default if the CRC of the stored environment is bad. After altering the default, I would like my target to pick up the new changes. Thanks in advance! Russell
