I am trying to compile network support for IXP425 NPE First I got error for undefined CONFIG_PHY_ADDR I have defined CONFIG_PHY_ADDR It then compiled and gave me undefined functions: miiphy_read, miiphy_speed, miiphy_duplex Has anyone successfuly operated IXP425 NPE? -- Ori Idan

I'm stuck with this error, and I don't know how to make "make" happy: a - display_options.o a - ldiv.o a - string.o a - vsprintf.o a - zlib.o make[1]: Leaving directory `/bulk/emqbit/git/u-boot/lib_generic' make -C board/ecb_at91/ make[1]: Entering directory `/bulk/emqbit/git/u-boot/board/ecb_at91' make[1]: *** No rule to make target `.depend', needed by `libecb_at91.a'. Hi All, I am compiling U-Boot for my Cogent board (based on Arm 926EJ-S). For the variable CROSS_COMPILE in the Makefile, should I use arm-none-gnueabi-gcc or arm-none-linux-gnueabi-gcc ?? I am using the tool chain by Code sourcery. I have this doubt because, for ARCH=i386, i386-linux is the prefix in the makefile. For PPC, the prefix is powerpc-linux. But as far as I understand, arm-none-linux-gnueabi-gcc is used to compile applications which will run on the linux deployed on the kit and not for a native application like boot loader. The native programs are compiled with arm-none-gnueabi-gcc. Am I correct?? -- Thanks & Regards, Midhun Agnihotram.

The device tree needs to be passed to Linux within CFG_BOOTMAPSZ. The current code places the device tree right before the initrd if it exists, and that will usually be closer to the end of memory. Instead, we should always put the device tree right before the bd_info structure, thus ensuring it is within CFG_BOOTMAPSZ. We do, however, allow for FDTs in uImages to shoot themselves in the foot by requesting a location outside of CFG_BOOTMAPSZ. Current include/configs/MPC8349ITX.h does contain some support for building image that will be started from memory (without putting in into flash). It could be triggered by building with TEXT_BASE set to a low value. However, this support is incomplete: using of low TEXT_BASE causes defining configuration macros in inconsistent way, which later leads to compilation errors. In particular. flash support is being disabled, but then flash structures get referenced. This patch fixes this, making it possible to build with low TEXT_BASE.
