[U-Boot-Users] Backup using U-Boot

Hi, I'm wondering if it is possible to backup a portion of memory to a file in a host PC using the TFTP commands built-in in U-Boot. Has anyone answers? My idea is to make an entire copy of the 256MB NAND flash. Regars, Diego A. [U-Boot-Users] FDT for dynamic U-Boot configuration, startup

Hello, as already discussed, FDT is a good choice for dynamically configuring U-Boot. I actually plan to use FDT to configure some devices of a MPC823, namely PCMCIA, the LCD controller, CAN and the RTC. Are there already some ideas on the related startup sequence and how to re-use the FDT when booting Linux. I guess there will be a FDT address defined in the config file, e.g. CFG_FDT_BASE and the FDT will then be read and checked somewhere early in the init sequence (in lib_ppc/board.c). I've noticed that VIDEO_FB_LITTLE_ENDIAN in drivers/cfb_console.c is not really well named. What it does is swap bytes around if the frame buffer has a /different/ endianness from the host. If you start with a little endian host and frame buffer and define VIDEO_FB_LITTLE_ENDIAN the drawn colors get incorrectly byte swapped. the attached patch changes VIDEO_FB_LITTLE_ENDIAN to VIDEO_FB_OTHER_ENDIAN to make it clearer what it does.
