Previous submission neglected to add stricmp to include/linux/string.h as well. Attached patch includes complete change to both files. Please discard/disregard previous patch. [U-Boot-Users] MPC8260 Data Chache enabling, (performance improvement) Despite indication in documentation

Processor: MPC8260 Purpose: SDH unit OS: Monta Vista Linux Ver 3.0 Bootloader: U-boot I know that the documentation indicates: "Data cache cannot be enabled on systems like 8xx or 8260(where access to IMMR region must be uncached). D cache cannot be diabled on other systems where we (mis-)use d-cache to hold an initial stach & some data..." I got to know that the data cache can be flused, can be locked (1.2.3 AN2129.pdf) and if we turn off the interrupts (1.2.4 AN2129.pdf) we can avoid the "machine check" core's exception which occurs when we enable the d-cache by setting the HID0 reg DCE bit (17) to 1.. However I want to confirm if this is possible before I try it out on the system. I also welcome any other solutions to improve performance of the MPC8260. Hello, inside of arm_init() in the part: /* MII management start from here */ if (!(p_mac->EMAC_SR & AT91C_EMAC_LINK)) { if (!(ret = PhyOps.Init (p_mac))) { printf ("MAC: error during MII initialization\n"); return 0; } } the software checks the status of a LINK-Bit. I thing the EMAC_SR register is wrong, because the EMAC_ISR has this valid LINK bit (AT91C_EMAC_LINK on bit 9). Did anybody find this problem? Hi All, I have the Phytecs ARM board with LPC2294 (ARM7TDMI) chip. I added this board in u-boot/board as there is no support for this board at present. I did all the changes related to it by adding the config file in include/configs directory. But still I am not getting the u-boot prompt. Can anyone please let me know what steps should I follow and which board cpu combination should I use. (Any reference code for the same). I am new to this. Please help me out. [U-Boot-Users] Why doesn't "lds" file have effect on the ".text" section in the object file?

u-boot-usersHello everybody, My question is about GNU linker scripts and has something to do with the ARM image. The addresses specified in the linker scripts file with an "lds" extension are exactly the addresses in ram for output sections in the object file to be copied to ram from flash(or rom), right? But the fact is, after decompiling the object file, I saw the ".text" section has a start address specified by TEXT_BASE in /board/xsbase255/config.mk(xsbase255 is my board name) rather than ". = 0x00000000" in /board/xsbase255/u-boot.lds. Why doesn't "lds" file have effect on the ".text" section in the object file? Thanks.

In 1.1.4 there's a bunch of code in cmd_nand.c under #ifdef MTD_NAND_ECC (e.g., the nand_correct_data() routine) which assumes 3 ECC bytes for each 256 byte block, and 6 bytes of ECC stored overall per 512 byte block. The Samsung uses a scheme with 3 bytes per 512 byte block, leading me to believe the current code is specific to some other chip. sf
