I just wanted to say thanks for the great software. I had been using rrload on my omap1510 innovator board. Yesterday, I got u-boot 1.1.2 compiled, loading, running, and flashed on the board - and I'm very happy! It's nice to have a more full-featured bootloader for my development work. Networking worked, as did all serial, memory and flash operations that I tested. I had to change one CFLAG in cpu/arm925t/config.mk: I changed -mshort-load-bytes to -malignment-traps, to support my gcc 3.4.3 compiler. A patch similar to this was submitted previously and rejected, because it breaks older compilers. I'm only including it here for others who may care. Hi all, In the course of getting ext2 support to work on our platform I noticed that the ext2load command calls ext2fs_open() and uses a return code of less than 0 as an error indication, otherwise the return value is a length. ext2fs_open() uses 0 to indicate a returned error, so the ext2load command doesn't properly flag errors coming back from the filesystem code. The ext2load command is the only caller of ext2fs_open() that I could see. The attached patch changes the return codes from ext2fs_open() to be negative on an error. -- Hardware, n.: The parts of a computer system that can be kicked.

Hi! I'm korean embedded system engineer. I'm developimg Linux DSTB based on ATI Xilleon (MIPS32). And, i will port to U-Boot on it. But, continuelly my try failed. My sistem is little endian ordered. Do you have the planning for the ATI Xilleon or MIPS32 (4K or 4KE) little endian system? Thank You.

Evening... Does someone has an idea why on OSX systems compiling u-boot picks up host's libgcc.a in the end? Means I always have to use: PLATFORM_LIBS += --no-warn-mismatch `$(CC) $(CFLAGS) -print-libgcc-file-name` instead of: PLATFORM_LIBS += --no-warn-mismatch -L $(shell dirname `$(CC) $(CFLAGS) -print-libgcc-file-name`) -lgcc best regards rick

Hello List, I'm interested in booting a linux image from a USB memory stick. I configured u-boot (version 1.1.2) to provide me with the usb commands. I try to load the image with the following commands. usb rest usb scan usbboot 10000 0:1 The usbboot command ends up with Loading from USB device 0, partition 1: Name: usbda1 Type: U-Boot First Block: 32, # of blocks: 255456, Block Size: 512 ** Bad Magic Number ** The image is the same I download with the tftp command. Should I create the image in a different way? Thanks for your hints. Jonas

Komal, As long as you have set your SDR and GPMC timings correctly you can load into DDR to start your work. Do know that the code will skip Clock and DDR init then. > Yes. I am running from SDRAM. Is your working SP really 0, or is it 0x4020FFC. You should be in SVC mode, so I bet its 0x4020FFFC, which would be correct. If it has 0x4020FFFC in it, then it shouldn't crash. If it crashed with 0x4020FFFC, I'd say you are using an OLD version of CCS which for some unknown reason needed a different driver to access SRAM. Other emulators I've used didn't have this issue, but I did hear that some version of CCS did. So update your CCS. Or ask them for the magic driver which allows you to access SRAM. You will likely have some crashes due to needed changes in the code, but this is not one of them. It is likely a tool issue. I don't have the same emulator you are using so I can't really help out directly here. Regards, Richard W.
