That's right. You can also see, that only the ATAG_CORE (0x54410001) and and ATAG_MEM (0x5441002) are parsed. There should be another 3 tags. After the memtag is processed parsing stops. Also when using 2.4.19-rmk7-pxa2 i get that bootup line: ignoring unrecognised tag 0x00000000 ## setup_commandling_tag size:0000001c line: root=/dev/ram0 init=/linuxrc >> Kernel command line: root=/dev/ram console=ttyS0,115200 I experienced also the phenomenon, that the kernel commandline that is set through the bootargs variable are not acepted/parsed. Only the default commandline is used. >Your kernel fails to mount the ramdisk, since you have RAMDISK driver >etc, then the next most likely reason is you are missing the filesystem >support in your kernel. For exampel if your ramdisk in in ext2 format >then make sure your kernel has ext2 support compiled in (not as a module). I think i configured the kernel correctly. Ramdisk support/initrd support. The initial Ramdisksize is greater than the size of my initrd. ext2 is the used filesystem. I also applied the ramdisk relocation patch. It didn't solve the problem.

Hello, It appears that only the first part of Marc Leeman's patch submitted on 11 May, 2004 (subject: [patch] master read fix mpc8245) was applied, resulting in the current CVS tree being broken for MPC8245-based boards. The portion of the patch that was applied requires a new register address to be defined in include/mpc8245.h, which was done in the second part of the patch. Gleb Natapov also raised this issue on 12 July, 2004, but received no reply from the list. I don't mean to sound redundant, but is the second part of the patch going to be applied soon? Hi all, I am about to add support for the CSB337 ( at91rm9200 based board ) in u-boot. I'm ready to write the ehter phy interface and have some questions. In cpu/at91rm9200/at91rm9200_ether.c lives the current phy definitions and routines for the at91rm9200dk board. Should this not be here? Should I separate the phy's? If so, should the phy routines exist in the respective board directory? Or should I simply #ifdef the existing implementation to add the lxt971 phy for the CSB337? Has anybody reconfigured/ported u-boot to the H2 version of the EP8260 board? It looks like current code was written for the H1 version of the board. If nobody has it, I'll go ahead and do it myself. Hi, I am trying to get the "bootm" command for the Nios architecture on the Stratix Board running. I can start uClinux with the "go" command, but no matter what I try, there is no way to get it working with the "bootm" command. I tried to implement it in the file lib_nios/nios_linux.c like the "go" command without any command line passing and other stuff. The only printout I get is the following: DK1S10 > bootm 1000100 ## Booting image at 01000100 ... Hi, I use u-boot-1.1.1 to boot my ixp425 board, but I found that the eepro100 network device need pci driver to work. But the u-boot does not implement the pci_init for ixp425. Hi all, sorry for the probably OT question but I hope to find here the experts at booting the linux kernel. I've got a proprietary board with MPC8280 and U-Boot 1.1.1. If I boot the kernel (2.4.24 from ELDK3.0), it crashes in m8260_init_IRQ. I guess there is the first access to IMMR area which launches a "Data store translation miss" exception. The BAT registers seem to be missconfigured. It would be fine if anyone could point me to 1. where the kernel configures the BAT registers and 2. where I can read about how the kernel uses the MMU. [U-Boot-Users] Question About New Board Support

Folks, I have support for two new processors in the MPC85XX family that I would like to introduce into the U-Boot source tree. However, I would like to do so utilizing a slightly better source-code layout than is currently being used in the tree. In particular, I would like to follow the example of, say, the "kup" line where a single top-level board/kup directory is introduced and sub-directories "kup/common", "kup/kup4k" and "kup/kup4x" are then introduced to house shared, and board-specific parts respectively. Is this "kup" layout currently accepted as "good practice"? Or is the preference to continue with a specific board for in its own directory all the time? I am proposing introducing the board/mpc85xx directory, initially with support for my two new processors (and board), and eventually moving the rest of the MPC85xx based boards into this structure. This would likely include the MPC8540ADS, the MPC8560ADS, the stxgp3 from Dan Malek, and possibly the SBC8560 board as well. Comments or opinions here? Thanks, jdl
