First - I downloaded u-boot v1.0 Then - I unzipped it. Then - I changed CROSS_COMPILE to be the latest MIPS compiler Then - I did a make dbau1x00_config Then - I did a make all. Memsetup.S is definitely in board/dbau1x00/ So - the file is not missing. You said: >missing or incorrect for your board configuration. Since it is not missing - it must be "incorrect". You got an error because "memsetup" was undefined; "memsetup" gets defined in board/<yourname>/memsetup.S - so obviously this file is missing or incorrect for your board configuration. Hello: I have three issues. The exisiting distro uses the "mips-4KC-gcc", I am using "mipsel-gnu-linux-gcc". There are 2 command line options: 1) -mcpu= 2) -mabicall For "-mcpu=" I substituted "-march=mips32" - is this correct? For -mabicall - what should I substitute? Also - I get an error building cpu/mips/start.s On line 242 there is a label "memsetup" - the error is "cannot branch to undefined symbol". Any ideas? Thanks Much!

PCI is initialized in the U-boot code, Kernel does not do initialization. One option which we used was to port init code into the kernel (somehow we did not want PCI in u-boot). If you do not have such restriction, then it is better to use u-boot init. [U-Boot-Users] NFS Server problem

Hi, I have sucessfully ported U-boot on MPC8280 board. I am using FCC2 for ethernet. I am able to boot Linux correctly. But sometimes I face some strange problems such as the board suddenly stops responding to commands saying: ======================================= nfs: server not responding, still trying ======================================= Sometimes, the board continues after printing, ======================================= nfs: server OK ======================================= but sometimes the board just hangs. Earlier I have ported U-boot to sbc8260 board and there I was using SCC for ethernet. I never faced such problems there. [U-Boot-Users] questions regarding support for new command (getspr/setspr)

I was wondering if it was considered useful to extend the CFG_CMD_SETGETDCR done by Erik Theisen for DCR registers on the 4xx family to all PowerPC products for SPRs (CFG_CMD_SETGETSPR). This is rather simple but can be a useful command. If, so I had a few questions: 1. Is it ok that the command does not do any checking on the SPR number. This is quick difficult and would have to be done per processor since what SPRs exists is implementation specific. If the user gives the commands an SPR that does not exist the result is going to be some exception (is this ok) 2. What numerical format should the spr number for the command be taken in? My think is decimal 3. For setspr what numerical format should the spr value be taken in? My thinking is hex 4. For getspr what numerical format should the spr be printed in? My thinking is hex If so, I will fixup my working patch and submit it once I get answers to the questions. thanks - kumar

Hi, I want to verify if the networking capabilities in u-boot is working properly.So i want todo loopback testing. Have any of u done internal loopback testing,if so could anyone pls let me know the steps involved in doing it. OR Is there any code available in the web for internal loopback testing?. I saw some code for loopback testing in cpu/mpc8260/ether_fcc.c,but in that it is given that it is an external loopback test. I also tried in the net to get some information about the loopback testing,but i was not able to. [U-Boot-Users] Endianness for MIPS

Hello - I am working on the DBAU1X00 version, and the readme says that it was created for big endian. My board (based on the Alchemy eval board) is set for little endian. Are the changes I will need to make be extensive? Beyond the obvious - what things (specifically in the source) should I watch out for? Thanks for any help.
