For a Numonyx NAND02GR3B2DN6E would be equivalent.
This is in use with an iMX25 (arm926 processor, armv5tel architecture)

The BDI cannot write to NAND. The standard approach is to load U-Boot to RAM, start it there, and then use U-Boot tools to write the image to NAND.
