GENMASK macro used on zynq_spi.c and zynq_qspi.c
GENMASK is used to create a contiguous bitmask([hi:lo]). Ex: (0x7 << 3) => GENMASK(5, 3)

Lets just leave it to 0xFF as I bet when you read the datasheet it says something along the lines of "write 0xFF first" or something like that.

Does this really improve the code?
Personally I prefer the original code as I don't need to go and look at the definition of the GENMASK() macro.
Fair point. This is a kernel helper macro but it's "new" and still gaining traction. I personally do find GENMASK(hi, lo) and BIT(x) more readable. Others don't. That's fine. The question I have here is, who is spending the most time in these drivers?

Did it manually based on the bit masks' but these were verified on armv7 system.
