Hi,
I am new to u-boot and trying to build it for a LPC2294 board from olimax.
I am wondering if there are tarred archives for monthly/annual span so that I can get them downloaded and go through them before posting my problems here.

No, there aren't. We use git (or CVS) instead.
Your question sounds as if you were looking for the git bisect command. Please read the git documentation.
