[U-Boot-Users] *NOTE* - U-Boot Patch Tracking System

Hello Everybody,
as mentioned before we will start using a patch tracking system soon. For now this will be used only internally within DENX for some more testing, i. e. there will be no publicly accessable interface to query the patch database.
As first action I will import all pending patches into this system; the author of the patch will receive a confirmation message from the tracking system, and a copy will be sent to the mailing list so the patch ID will be known for future reference.
NOTE: this will result in some 250+ messages flooding this list. If you don't care please set up your filters to block/ignore/delete any messages with a string
[DNX#yyyymmdd42nnnnnn]
in the subject line. I will wait for some 20+ hours from now before I start so you have some time to bring up your shields.
Best regards,
Wolfgang Denk

Out of interest how will git pull requests be handled by the system?

Dear Kumar,

Like any other ticket: in the end some human will pick up the message and handle it. He will then probably pull from your tree.
The difference compared to what we had so far is that:
1) You will receive a confirmation that the patch was received and registered. 2) You will (hopefully soon) be able to check the status of your own and other patches. 3) Not only myself, but other engineers will be able to list open tickets and work on processing these patches, too, so hopefully we will see an improvement in processing speed, too. 4) You will receive a notification when the ticket was closed.
Best regards,
Wolfgang Denk

Please remember to tell us when its safe to lower the shields.
