Re: [U-Boot-Users] LAN9118 ethernet controller

Hello William,
Hi, Jonas,
Sorry I missed you email until today. Thanks very much for you kind response.
You are welcome.
I did downloaded the code from SMSC and got a patch from another developer. I think I am on the right path to make it work.
If it is possible please send a patch to the U-Boot mailing list once you are done. Most likely the patch that Tim Braun posted will be of great help for you.
Please always keep the mailing list on copy when replying posts.
Thanks again!

Hi William,
I have an ARM board which has a LAN9118 ethernet controller (SMSC) instead of a LAN91C111 which is supported in u-boot. Is there any existing patch or ongoing work to support it?
To my understanding the SMSC LAN91C111 and the LAN911x family are
quite
different. So a simple patch is most likely not enough. The good
news is
that SMSC offers a Linux driver for download (see http://www.smsc.com/main/catalog/lan9115.html). So you could start
from
there.
