Pls check your environment settings above. Perhaps you should set like this: bootcmd=bootp; setenv bootargs console=ttyS0,9600 root=/dev/nfs rw ip=$(ipaddr):$(serverip):$(gatewayip):$(netmask):$(hostname)::off; bootm
'root=ramfs and console=ttyS00' is quite strange for me.

My ethact is 'ethact=SCC ETHERNET'.

Uhmmm, I suspect you use the kernel source in ELDK3.0.
Right?

The value is a little weird to me. Maybe sth wrong on Power-on init circuit. My custom board also had such a fault with CPU freq. and hanged later.

I guess you didn't have ramdisk on your target for you didn't set 'ramdisk_addr'. This is also the reason why I suggest you use 'root=/dev/nfs' rather than 'root=/dev/ram' in bootargs.

Pls never send HTML to this list. Plain text is well accepted. W.D. don't like to see it. :-)

It's not only a matter of liking or disliking. It has to do with the ability to use standard text processing tools to process the stuff, like a simple "grep" to search for something. All the other issues like waste of bandwidht and storage capacity to be added, of ocurse.

Oops, me and my big mouth. Well, maybe we could add some post rules on u-boot maillist subscribe URL clearly, like PLAIN TEXT ONLY maillist. Or give the new subscriber some tips when he gets a successful subscription. There are also other similar problems, like 'gzip' some small pacth, which make it unreadable on maillist. This way, I think we could make the maillist more readable. And also to save us from posting such remainders online every now and then.

Sam

This is standard netiquette. There should (in theory, I know) be no need to metion this at all. But there should also be no need to point ouit that posters are expected to read the documentation and the FAQs and search the mailing list archives and use google and do allt he other usual things ...

Maybe we should really set up posting rules (pronbaly similar to those on the linux-arm lists)and actually reject messages that contain "garbage". It's just that I don't know how or if at all I can set up such filtering on the SF mailing lists. I doubt I can do it there.
