I will have to get a SII3124 up pertty soon.
From what I can tell, the SATA command table seems to pretty much line
up register wise to the ATA comand registers, so it seems to mee that it should be possible to use the ATA driver with some minimal local controller setup.

Could someone tell me if U-boot supports SATA disk?
How to support? The current SATA chip I am using is sil3114.
