[U-Boot-Users] 5272c3 Port (newbie)

Hello,
I downloaded the latest u-boot from CVS today. I've built the M5272C3 port successfully. How do I burn this into flash?
With an early version of ppcboot. Someone, supplied a tarifa.elf file which would initially load u-boot into ram. U-boot would then load the .bin file into flash.
Does anyone know what the process is now? I am using m68k-elf-tools.
Cheers, Robert

Hello Robert,
you can set CONFIG_MONITOR_IS_IN_RAM in the m5272c3.h config file. Additionally you have to set TEXT_BASE to 0x20000 in board/m5272c3/config.mk. Then you get a version which can be loaded to RAM at address 0x20000. You can download it through a BDM interface or with you current boot loader (e.g. dbug)
You can use the RAM version to program the flashable version (CONFIG_MONITOR_IS_IN_RAM is not set and TEXT_BASE is set to 0xffe00000) into the flash memory.
If something goes wrong while programming the image to flash, you need a BDM interface to get your board running again!
Hope this helps!
Regards,
Josef
