The reason of course is that from 2008:10 until very recently, the AVR32 version didn't work - some issue to do with the memory mapping when writing flash.

This issue was fixed in 1f36f73fe70560a2bd286a7abc8530fdc93af9ae somewhere in August and is therefore mainline since v2010.09
