it's "a1"(a-one) or "al", do you have typing mistake

Also what goes the -r option mean in

m68k-elf-gcc -r -o mcf5xxx.o mcf5xxx.s

"-r(elocation)" means object file mcf5xxx.o will be able to be relocated
