Not really. I would suspect it is in cfi_probe or something. You might wat to send an explicit reset to your flashes after they are detected (in your mtdmap file) Flash can be reset usually by writing either a 0xf0 or 0xff to them.

This really should go in the MTD mailing list and not u-boot.
