i'm wondering if "env import" and "env export" are the solutions to this question -- i want to be able to install a new u-boot binary, then combine the factory defaults in that new binary with what is currently saved, such that the current, saved values take precedence if the same variable appears in both places.

i'd like to think that can't be hard, but i've been surprised before.
