The intention is to present a minimal starting point for upstreaming to which support for other processors, peripherals, boards etc can be added in the future. The code here is from sunxi.git#sunxi[0] changeset d854c4de2f57 "arm: Handle .gnu.hash section in ldscripts" and applied to u-boot v2014.01.
