This is not applied. On deeper inspection of the overall changes, there are a number of cases and parts of NOR access that do not require the MTD subsystem. At the end of the series CONFIG_MTD is not entirely and wholly only a gating symbol but also grabs mtdcore.o / mtd_uboot.o and so causes size growth without functional change in some boards. Thanks!
