I think David is suggesting that we divide MAKEALL into multiple files, one per processor family or something like that. For instance, all Freescale boards could have their own MAKEALL file, so that if someone creates a new ARM board, there is no way there would be a merge conflict.
Either way, I am also voting for the one-board-per-line change. I hate merge conflicts, even easy ones, so I'm in favor of any change that reduces them.
