This is for you to decide if you want to automatically benefit from future bugfixes and enhancements added to U-Boot, in which case you should submit your changes to the list to get the Android emulator added as a U-Boot target.

Note however that changes must be submitted as patch series, not as git repositories -- see http://www.denx.de/wiki/U-Boot/Patches.
