I'll report this issue to suggestion the company to modify the origin spec. And also tell the customer to use the correct command instead of their requests.
Actually this is a pretty common pattern: when a customer asks for some new feature, it always makes sense to ask what exactly he is trying to do with that feature, and then think if the same purpose might be acchieved using existing, standard commands.
