I agree that this is the last issue at the moment.

This is a pretty big change that affects much more than networking code (even though the cause of the changes is network support related). So I tend to pull this into mainline quickly.

Ben:

if you agree, please just ACK the patches, and I will pull them into the next branch (which I will create as soon as 2009-03-rc1 is out or the new patch series gets posted, whatever comes earlier).
