This patchset cleans consolidates most of the linker files for the mpc5xx, mpc5xxx, mpc82xx and mpc83xx architectures. This is the start of a push to reduce the number of duplicate files in the source tree.
There are two parts to this patch set. The 'consolidate' patches add the new common linker scripts and modifies the board ports to use them. These changes *should* be okay, but they must be tested. The 'remove obsolete' changes simply remove the no-longer-required files.
Most of the consolidated linker scripts are nearly identical, but I did come across a few variations which I think are minor and can be safely ignored. However, I have not been able to test this as I don't have access to most of the boards. There was also a handful of boards which have more complex differences in their linker scripts. For now I've left those board ports using their original scripts.
If you currently using any of the affected boards; please test! I would like to apply this changeset to mainline in about a month or so. I've verified that all the board ports do compile, but I of course cannot test if they still work.
All 24 patches applied to u-boot-testing.
Best regards,
