These boards are always on the boundary of "u-boot-nodtb.bin exceeds file size limit" error.
Commit ab5502bf561b ("ARM: openrd: set CONFIG_LOGLEVEL to 2") reduced the loglevel to save memory footprint.
They are hitting the size limit, again. Disable CONFIG_BUG_CHECKS.
