Hi.
I found that if the 'generic' cpu/mpc83xx/start.S is changed to comply with pre-existing configuration values for flash mapping registers, then it is no longer hard-wired to just 8m flash size. This way, each implementor does not have to go munging the start.S file, but just has to set up correct values for:
CFG_LBLAWAR0_PRELIM CFG_OR0_PRELIM
and things get re-mapped ok.
