Agreed, we should avoid such duplication.
I agree with you generally. But I fear I won't have enough time now to port the host part too. Also please note that usbtty works only with the old API now.
Also current MUSB code supports a number of systems, I could add support for all these to the new code (I just don't have the hardware). So I think it's better to allow the two versions coexist for some time.
