You should easily find the extensive manual http://www.denx.de/wiki/DULG/Manual, and of course also the README included with the source code. With little more effort you will also find a presentation I prepared a long time ago at http://www.denx.de/wiki/UBootdoc/Presentation
And there have been articles on linuxdevices, and ...
I disagree: it is NOT difficult to find information.
