I'm not sure which sort of problem you are trying to fix, but what you describe here is inherently broken.
The entry point of an image is almost never ever at the beginning of an image.
I was mislead by the table in point 6. of doc/README.standalone that it is a design decision that the entry point is whatever is linked to the beginning of the text segment. Thus the sloppy use of entry point and load address.
