You could ask the linuxppc-embedded mailing-list. I think that MontaVista has linux running on the PPC405EP eval board (bubinga == evb405ep). They could have a hint about differences in the 405 EMAC implementations...

Yes, you're right. The kernel has been ported to this platform and I have already run it through the OpenBIOS monitor. I'll follow your suggestion and I'll post a message to linuxppc-embedded ml. Thanx for your help.
